A lot is on the horizon
for the Youth here at Lakeside. The Christmas season is rapidly
approaching and we have a couple of projects in store.
We will be meeting soon to plan our mission trip, and we are putting
together a Youth Handbell Choir to go to the Youth Festival in the
Spring.
First, the Youth will be staying after Church on Sunday to help
decorate the Sanctuary for the Christmas Season. Lunch will be provided
in Fellowship Hall. We will also be discussing dates to go shopping
for the Angel Tree and our Christmas Party. Plus, we will be starting
an Advent study after Thanksgiving.
We have seven youth who are very active in the Adult Bell Choir
this year. We met with Margaret last Wednesday and have decided
to enter a Youth Choir in the Youth Festival this spring. So, for
much of January and February we will meet at 5:00 p.m. to eat, and
then head to the Bell Room to go over the music. I think this is
a very exciting opportunity for the Youth and they are excited about
it.
